Aircon servicing prices in Singapore are easiest to compare when the unit type, number of units and cleaning scope match. An advertised per-unit rate may require a larger booking. Check the total visit cost, minimums and exclusions, then compare company-specific published prices rather than treating a starting rate as a final quote.
What does an advertised aircon price actually buy?
An advertised aircon price is an offer for a particular scope, not a diagnosis of your system. Before comparing amounts, establish whether the price covers one wall-mounted unit, several units, a contract or an inspection. Similar-looking price cards can describe very different visits.
Start with the aircon servicing directory and open the service details for each company. Keep the source conditions with the price. If the company lists a minimum number of units or a different rate for a single unit, that condition belongs in your comparison.
The sourced sample below uses advertised rates already captured in HomezyPro. It is useful for orientation, but it is not a market-wide survey or evidence of the amount homeowners ultimately paid. Your quote may change once the company understands the equipment and access.
Compare the charging basis first
Compare like-for-like charging units before deciding which quote is cheaper. A per-unit rate cannot be compared directly with a whole-visit charge, and an annual package cannot be treated as the price of one appointment. Write down the number of units and visits beside every amount.
| Price format | What it measures | What to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| Per unit | One specified indoor unit | Minimum units and eligible equipment |
| Per visit | One appointment with a stated scope | Units included and additional-unit charges |
| Multi-unit package | A group of units in one booking | Whether all units receive the same work |
| Maintenance contract | Several scheduled visits | Expiry, visit count and cancellation terms |
| Inspection charge | Assessment of a fault | Repair approval and any fee offset |
If a quote leaves the charging basis unclear, ask the company to restate it as a total for your exact job. You should not need to reverse-engineer a promotion to know what is payable at the end of the visit.
General servicing, chemical cleaning and overhaul prices
Different cleaning methods should have separate descriptions and separate prices. General servicing, chemical cleaning and overhaul are not interchangeable labels. A meaningful quote explains the procedure, the equipment covered and what is removed or cleaned, so you can see why the cost differs.
For a deeper clean, ask what condition justifies it and whether the method suits your model. The company should explain the expected result without promising that cleaning will solve an unrelated fault. If parts or diagnosis may be needed, request those costs separately.
Use the servicing guide to compare the questions to ask for each option. For specific providers, the chemical wash page keeps the business's published scope beside its price information.
Which extras can change the total?
The total changes when the actual work is broader than the advertised scope. Ask about transport, access equipment, diagnostic work, replacement parts and additional labour before the appointment. A company may price these separately or include some of them in its package.
GST treatment should also be explicit where applicable. If the source does not state it, treat it as a question rather than assuming the displayed amount includes every charge. The same applies to out-of-hours work and appointments in locations with unusual access requirements.
Agree how extra work is approved. For example, request a message with the additional item and amount before the technician proceeds. This is especially useful if you are not present or a tenant is providing access on your behalf.
Is a cheap package good value?
A lower price is good value when it covers the work you need with terms you accept. A small package can be appropriate for straightforward maintenance. It becomes difficult to compare when essential parts of the visit are unspecified or the advertised scope does not match your equipment.
Look at the quote alongside relevant reviews, the company's explanation of its work and its after-service process. Ask who to contact if a problem continues and whether a return visit is chargeable. Avoid treating a large discount percentage as more informative than the final price and scope.
A longer contract can reduce the advertised amount per visit while creating a larger commitment. Check expiry, missed visits, transferability and cancellation. Consider whether your tenancy, moving plans or likely replacement of the system could prevent you from using the full package.
Build a comparison that survives the site visit
A useful price comparison starts with the same brief for each company. List the units, property type, town, symptoms and access restrictions. Say whether you want cleaning only or investigation of a fault. Attach accessible model information if you have it.
Ask each company to separate confirmed charges from provisional items. A reasonable inspection-based quote may leave a repair amount open until diagnosis, but the inspection fee and approval process should still be clear. Record what happens if you decide not to proceed with the repair.
- Keep the written quote and the source price conditions together.
- Record the number of units and the exact service selected.
- Note whether materials, GST and travel are included or unstated.
- Ask whether the quote has an expiry date or booking restrictions.
- Confirm the final amount before additional work begins.
How HomezyPro's price sample is calculated
HomezyPro's general-servicing sample compares one eligible advertised starting rate per company. The calculation uses matching per-unit entries and excludes identifiable annual packages, promotional rates and unrelated work. At least three eligible companies are needed before an average is displayed.
Choosing one rate per company prevents a business with many similar price lines from dominating the sample. The average is rounded to the nearest Singapore dollar. Minimum bookings and different inclusions still matter, so the source conditions remain available for checking.
The sample only describes prices captured in this directory. It is not an estimate of every aircon company's prices in Singapore, and it does not measure workmanship. For a new system, use the installation guide instead of comparing equipment and installation against maintenance rates.
Aircon price questions
Why is the single-unit price higher than a per-unit offer?
The offer may apply only when several units are serviced in one visit. Ask for the total for your number of units, including any minimum booking. Comparing that total with other quotations is more useful than comparing a promotional per-unit amount that your booking does not qualify for.
Should I choose the lowest quote?
Choose the quote that fits the work and terms you need. Compare equivalent scope, price conditions, review context and the company's response to your questions. A higher quote may include additional work, or it may not. Ask for the difference to be explained rather than inferring quality from price alone.
Does a published price guarantee the final bill?
A published price only supports the scope and conditions stated with it. Confirm its current validity and your job details directly with the company. If a technician finds another problem, request a separate explanation and price before approving it. Keep that agreement with your original booking details.
Why are some prices shown as ask for a quote?
The directory may not have a usable published price for that service, or the company may quote after assessing the job. It does not mean the company is necessarily expensive. Send a clear brief and ask for the same inclusions you would request from a provider with a published rate.
